What you can pick

The Cranborne Christmas Tree Farm site in Alderholt, near Fordingbridge, is now operated by Alderholt Christmas Trees, which sells Christmas trees from late November. The farm is open daily from 9:30am to 4:30pm. The field is not open to visitors, so you cannot choose and cut your own tree; trees are sold on site. Cranborne Estate no longer sells the trees directly and they are not grown on the estate.

What visitors say

Pick your own Christmas tree in the field. The staff are friendly and helpful, and prices are reasonable. The trees last for ages, and for many families it has become an annual tradition. However, recent seasons have brought complaints about smaller, spindly trees and a limited selection, with the farm moving to a different field and planting only part of it, so some have left without a tree, particularly at the opening weekend. One visitor notes the farm is not replanting.
