Pick-your-own fruit and vegetables at Durleighmarsh Farm near Petersfield until 31 October, plus pumpkins 17-31 October. Christmas trees sold, no booking.

What you can pick

Durleighmarsh Farm near Petersfield grows fruit and vegetables for pick-your-own through the summer and autumn until 31st October. The fields open on selected days depending on what is ripe, so check before travelling. When open, hours are Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm (last entry 3.30pm) and Sunday 10am to 3.30pm (last entry 3pm). Entry costs £2 per person, with children aged two and under free. Picked produce is weighed and paid for at the exit, or charged per item. No booking is needed.

From 17th to 31st October the pumpkin patch is open daily 10am to 4pm for picking pumpkins and squashes. Entry is free and there is no booking; pay per pumpkin or squash, from £1 depending on size.

The farm shop is open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm. It sells the farm’s own seasonal produce such as strawberries and asparagus when in season, plus local bread, meat, fish on Saturday mornings, jams, chutneys, sauces and drinks. In the run-up to Christmas the shop sells cut trees, including Nordmann Fir, Norway Spruce and Fraser Fir, from £27. Gift vouchers are sold online.

A tea barn beside the shop serves breakfast, lunch and cake. The farm also sells at farmers’ markets across Hampshire and Surrey on most Saturdays and Sundays. The site has free parking and wheelchair-accessible toilets, seating and parking. Dogs are not permitted in the shop or picking fields.

What visitors say

Pick-your-own runs through summer with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, gooseberries, plums and vegetables. There is a £2 per person entry fee to the fields, not deducted from the fruit you pick. By late morning on a busy Saturday the best fruit has often gone, and in hot, dry summers patches can look dry. In October the pumpkins are separate, carry no entry fee, and picking is peaceful; three pumpkins cost around £11.

The farm shop is well stocked with local produce, cheeses and bottled beers, with a 3 for £10 offer, and a fish stall sometimes visits outside. The Tea Barn serves cakes, sausage rolls and coffee, and staff are mostly friendly. There is a play area with push-along cars and a playhouse, though it gets dusty in heat. Prices run high, but the produce is high quality.

Seasons and opening times change, so check with the farm before you go.
